Training services

MedEqHub Australia provides professional-development training relating to biomedical engineering, medical equipment inspection, electrical safety testing, maintenance, performance verification and servicing.

Training may include theory, demonstrations, practical exercises and supervised hands-on activities using representative medical equipment and appropriate test instruments.

Scope of training

This training is focused on the inspection and electrical safety testing of medical equipment within a biomedical engineering environment.

The training does not cover electrical installation, electrical contracting, electrical wiring or repair of electrical installations.

Practical activities are limited to the inspection and testing procedures covered by the relevant course and are conducted using appropriate medical equipment and test instruments under trainer supervision.

Participants are responsible for ensuring that subsequent testing or servicing is within their competence, qualifications, workplace procedures and applicable requirements.

Non-accredited professional development

MedEqHub Australia training is non-accredited professional development training. It is not represented as any of the following:

• A nationally recognised qualification
• An AQF or VET qualification
• Government accreditation
• Regulatory certification
• Manufacturer or OEM accreditation
• Professional association accreditation

Training certificate

MedEqHub Australia Certificate of Completion

Participants who meet applicable attendance and completion requirements may receive a MedEqHub Australia Certificate of Completion. It confirms attendance and completion of the relevant MedEqHub Australia training program.

The certificate is issued by MedEqHub Australia only. It is not a nationally recognised qualification, external accreditation, or certification issued by another organisation.

Australian Standards

Where a course refers to Australian Standards, including AS/NZS 3551, the Standards are referenced for educational and training purposes. MedEqHub Australia is not the publisher, owner, accreditation authority or certifying authority for those Standards.

Participants should refer to the current applicable Standards, manufacturer instructions, workplace procedures and regulatory requirements relevant to their work.

Expression of Interest

Submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) does not constitute a booking and does not guarantee a training place.

EOI information may be retained so that MedEqHub Australia can contact interested persons when the relevant training becomes available.

Booking and enrolment

A training place is confirmed only after the required application process is completed, these Terms & Conditions are accepted, and payment is completed where payment is required. Training places may be limited.

Fees and payment

The applicable training fee will be displayed before payment. Payment must be completed using the payment method provided by MedEqHub Australia.

A booking is not confirmed until successful payment has been received, unless another arrangement is confirmed in writing.

Cancellation, refunds and transfers

Course-specific cancellation, refund and transfer conditions will be displayed before payment.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer right, guarantee or remedy that cannot legally be excluded under Australian law.

Changes, rescheduling or cancellation by MedEqHub

MedEqHub Australia may change, postpone or cancel a training session where reasonably necessary, including because of:

• Venue or trainer availability
• Equipment availability
• Safety concerns
• Insufficient enrolments
• Illness or emergency
• Venue requirements
• Circumstances outside its reasonable control

Where a course is cancelled or materially changed, the applicable remedy will be provided in accordance with the course policy and Australian law.

Training venue

Training may be conducted at a hired council, community, commercial or other suitable training venue. Participants must comply with reasonable venue requirements and instructions from MedEqHub Australia trainers.

Practical training safety

Practical activities may involve medical equipment, electrical safety analysers, power supplies, cables and other technical equipment. Participants must:

• Follow trainer instructions and venue safety requirements
• Use equipment only as instructed
• Report hazards, faults, damage, injuries and near misses immediately
• Not bypass safety devices
• Not modify or repair equipment during training unless specifically instructed
• Stop an activity when instructed

Competence and workplace responsibility

MedEqHub Australia training develops practical knowledge and skills in the inspection and testing of medical equipment. Completion of training does not constitute a workplace competency assessment or workplace authorisation.

Participants and their employers are responsible for determining whether the participant has the necessary competence, qualifications, training and workplace authorisation to perform subsequent testing, servicing or maintenance.

Participants must follow applicable legislation, workplace procedures, manufacturer requirements and relevant Standards.

No patient treatment

The training is provided for educational and technical purposes and is not clinical training. No patient treatment or patient-connected clinical activity forms part of this training.

Training equipment

MedEqHub Australia may use new, used, refurbished, demonstration or training equipment. Equipment used during training may differ from equipment used by the participant's employer.

Participants must use equipment only under trainer instruction and within the scope of the practical exercise.

Participant responsibilities

Participants must:

• Attend at the scheduled time
• Follow trainer and venue instructions
• Participate safely and respectfully
• Take reasonable care of equipment and venue property
• Report damage or unsafe conditions
• Not attend practical training while impaired by alcohol or drugs
• Not intentionally damage or misuse equipment
• Not record training sessions without permission

Removal from training

MedEqHub Australia may stop a participant from participating in a practical activity, or ask a participant to leave, where reasonably necessary because of:

• Unsafe behaviour
• Serious disruption
• Harassment
• Intoxication or impairment
• Deliberate misuse or damage of equipment
• Conduct creating an unacceptable risk to others

Refund consequences will be determined under the applicable policy and law.

Accessibility and reasonable adjustments

Participants may notify MedEqHub Australia before training if they require reasonable adjustments. MedEqHub Australia will consider reasonable requests and discuss suitable arrangements where practicable.

Dietary requirements

Where catering is provided, participants may provide dietary requirements or food allergy information through the booking form. Participants should notify MedEqHub Australia before training.

Such information will be handled under the MedEqHub Privacy Policy and applicable privacy requirements.

Photography and video consent

Photography and video consent is separate from acceptance of these Terms & Conditions. At booking, participants will be asked to select one of the following:

• I consent to MedEqHub Australia taking and using photographs and/or video of me for MedEqHub Australia promotional, educational and social-media purposes.
• I do not consent to photography or video use.

Declining photography or video consent will not, by itself, prevent participation in the training.

Emergency contact and safety information

Where required for a particular course, participants may provide an emergency contact and relevant safety information. This information will be used for training administration and emergency purposes, and handled in accordance with applicable privacy requirements.

Incidents and near misses

Participants must immediately report any injury, equipment damage, incident, hazard or near miss to the trainer. MedEqHub Australia may record and investigate incidents and implement appropriate corrective actions.

Training materials and intellectual property

Training presentations, manuals, worksheets, forms, diagrams, videos and other materials supplied by MedEqHub Australia remain the property of MedEqHub Australia or the relevant rights holder unless stated otherwise.

Participants may use materials for personal learning and workplace reference, but must not reproduce, sell, publish, distribute or commercially use them without permission, except where permitted by law.

Recording of training

Participants must not photograph, audio-record, video-record or livestream training sessions or training materials without prior permission from MedEqHub Australia.

Privacy

Personal information collected during the EOI, application and training process will be handled in accordance with the MedEqHub Australia Privacy Policy and applicable privacy requirements. Information may include:

• Contact details
• Organisation and position
• Training and booking information
• Attendance records
• Payment and reference information
• Dietary and accessibility information
• Emergency contact information
• Consent records

Payment information

Where online payment is provided, payment will be processed through the applicable payment provider. MedEqHub Australia will not intentionally store full payment-card numbers or CVV/security codes on its website.

Liability and consumer rights

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any right, guarantee, remedy, liability or obligation that cannot legally be excluded or limited under Australian law. Any limitation of liability will apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Participant responsibility for damage

Participants are responsible for loss or damage they intentionally or negligently cause to MedEqHub Australia property, training equipment or venue property, subject to applicable law.

Force majeure

MedEqHub Australia will not be responsible for delays or changes caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control, including serious illness, emergency, natural disaster, venue closure, government direction, major equipment failure or other unforeseen circumstances.

Any applicable refund, transfer or other remedy will be handled under the applicable policy and law.

Complaints

Participants may contact MedEqHub Australia regarding any concern or complaint.

Changes to these terms

MedEqHub Australia may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The version accepted by the participant at booking should be retained with the booking record.

Governing law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws applicable in Victoria, Australia, subject to any mandatory laws that apply to the participant or transaction.

Severability

If any provision is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will operate to the extent permitted by law and the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
